Driveway improvements are boring. One little-acknowledged part of the exterior appearance of your home is the driveway itself. When it looks good, or even marginally good, the topic usually doesn’t come up. When it is cracked, badly discolored, or missing entirely, however, it becomes a topic of conversation.
I included a good example above. The house sits on a hill, which is good for overall drainage, but the driveway itself was washed out and the ruts were so deep that my daughter’s car scraped when she drove on it. We had a reputable company come out and break up the old asphalt, grade the path so the water would drain toward the sides after a good rain, and then spread new gravel so now it is good to go for, hopefully, a few more years.
